Architectural Glass and Metal Technician Certification Program

Become AGMT Certified

The Architectural Glass and Metal Technician (AGMT) Certification Program is a personnel certification process featuring a third-party, independent assessment of an experienced glazier’s knowledge of, and ability to properly perform fundamental glazing procedures. The program was designed for and is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).

Development Committees

Throughout the development of the AGMT Certification Program, steering committees provided guidance for the program’s overall model, scope and direction. They also individually developed knowledge items and assessment processes. All committees were comprised of an equal representation of industry leaders from the three major segments of the industry.

Program Sponsorship

The AGMT Certification Program is sponsored by the Architectural Glass and Metal Certification Council (AGMCC), a non-profit organization assembled to better the contract glazing industry through certification programs.

Program Administration

The program is administered by Administrative Management Systems, Inc. (AMS, Inc.), a recognized leader in independent, third-party compliance testing and certification in the glass and fenestration industry for over 20 years.

Glaziers with AGMT Certification are in high demand throughout the District Council. The FTIOR highly encourages all glaziers to take this training and earn this certification, which is more frequently being required by DC 6 affiliated contractors.
